Garnier Ultimate Blends Delicate Oat Heat Protection Milk

Garnier Ultimate Blends Delicate Oat Heat Protection Milk - £4.49

I recently had a much needed a trim to rid my split ends and to give my hair some life! Each time I pay a visit to the hairdressers I always tell myself to take better care of my hair, admittedly I hadn't been making the effort to protect my locks when heat styling (slaps wrist) which did leave my hair in a bad way - needless to say I am styling less often.

I picked up the Garnier Ultimate Blends Delicate Oat Heat Protection Milk as it was on offer in Boots and it has fast become an essential in my hair care routine. I apply this onto towel dry hair before drying and styling. It leaves my hair ridiculously soft, it appears to be in such healthy and smooth condition after each use. It's delightfully light weight and doesn't give leave any sticky residue. The product has a lovely scent and is a great follow up to use after washing with Ultimate Blends shampoo and conditioner.

Monochrome Mini Holiday Haul

Primark Shorts - £5
Travel Pillow - £4
Sunglasses - £3

Over the weekend I picked up a few items to take on my holiday next week. I found some cheap and cheerful finds including these tribal print shorts for just a fiver! I also couldn't resist picking up yet another pair of sunnies and this travel pillow is just what I need to stay comfortable on the plane.

Topshop Trousers - £28 £7

I spotted these trousers on the sale rack in Topshop and I couldn't believe they were 75% off, they're super light and floaty which are perfect for keeping cool in the heat.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Spray

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Spray

I have had balayage for the past two years or so, which does require a lot of maintenance to keep the colour intensity and to stop it from fading. This can be quite a strain on the old purse strings with regular trips to the salon for a refresh so I sought out a way to find a more affordable alternative that I could do at home.

My holy grail hair product has been the Lee Stafford Sun-kissed Lightening Spray which I apply on to towel dry hair as an when I want a colour uplift but I was gutted to find that this product had been discontinued and I thought I would never find something similar in the drug store That is until a friend of mine told me about this lightening spray by John Frieda

It has a very similar concept, with regular applications it will lighten your hair in a matter of days! For best results I have been using the product on towel dried hair and style as normal. It is actually recommended that heat styling will speed up the lightening process, so I have been using straighteners each time. The product is very light in consistency, with a pleasant scent of citrus and chamomile, unlike the Sun-kissed Lightening Spray which has a strong scent of peroxide that lingers hours after use.

The results of this product are slow, I have only noticed a slight change in colour despite numerous comments from others asking if I've done something with my hair. It may take a few more applications to get the shade I'm working towards so watch this space for an update.
