The Body Shop British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter

*PR sample

Introducing The Body Shop's new British Rose range. Recently, I had the opportunity to try out the Instant Glow Body Butter which has been formulated to give radiance to the skin and 24 hour hydration. Made with 100% organic ingredients and hand-picked roses this is a truly indulgent cream.

I must admit I have always perceived rose to be a much more mature fragrance which can at times be rather potent however this product has a very subtle and pleasant, floral scent. The consistency is wonderfully soft and nourishing, perfect for self pampering. My Winter bitten skin feels instantly moisturised and smoother.

This new collection also consists of body fragrances, shower gel, hand cream and more! Available in store and online.

LUSH Sale Buys

Golden Wonder bath bombs, Old Father Time soap and Firecracker gift - £29.15 £13.27

I didn't bother much with the post Christmas sales but I just couldn't resist making a small splurge on one of my absolute favourite stores! I had never shopped Lush's sale in previous years but when I saw the amazing reductions I just had to take advantage. Despite the queuing system both my Mum and I were very successful and got ourselves some luscious bath time treats.

I managed to bag 3 bath bombs, two soaps and a gift box all for under £15! These goodies are sure to last me a few months into 2016!

Hair Myths - Do's & Don'ts #MRLoveMyHair

1. DO have regular trims to rid split ends and prevent breakage. It is said trimming your hair often will make it grow faster which is a misconception, the fact is that your hair will appear much healthier for longer.

2. DON'T keep your hair in a tight high top bun! Although it is a popular go to hair style the reality is that it may be causing more harm than good. Taking the hair up too high and too tight strains the scalp which tugs on the strands and can lead to hair loss.

3. Do use heat protection when styling. It's important to protect your hair from excessive damage caused by straighteners, curling irons and blow drying. To avoid frying your hair use a heat protection spray or serum to shield the strands from high temperatures.

4. DON'T tie your hair up with metal banded hair ties! Hair strands can easily catch on the metal causing them to tear and become brittle, instead use seamless bands or soft scrunchies.

5. DO have breaks between washes. Washing the hair too often rids the hair of it's natural oils leaving it dry and ultimately causes frizziness. Daily washing also strips dye out of coloured hair making it appear dull.

6. DON'T brush your hair 100 strokes a day! Over brushing weakens hair and pulls out hair from the follicle. Strands will become more prone to snapping and therefore you should only brush to style your barnet.

7. DO use shampoo only the roots and conditioner only on the ends. Shampooing the hair right through can dry out the ends so try to focus on the scalp, meanwhile conditioner can often leave roots feeling greasy and the overall texture of the hair falls flat.

8. DO use a purple toner on bleached hair to banish brassiness and to enhance the colour of your hair. To find your perfect hair colour take this simple test and Madison Reed will give you the best advise from hair colour experts.

InstaNatural Skin Clearing Spot Treatment

*PR sample

Throughout 2015 I was given the opportunity to trial a selection of products from US based skincare brand InstaNatural. Generally I have been satisfied however one item did fail to meet my expectations.

I have spot prone skin and although I have a set skincare routine, there is still something missing. I've always wanted to find something that zaps away zits in an instant without causing discomfort and when I was asked to try this Skin Clearing Spot Treatment, I had high expectations. Made with Salicylic acid, this aims to dry out spots to increase healing time and reduce the appearance of blemishes. After numerous uses I am disappointed that this hasn't worked for me, spots remain prominent and there is no improvement over night. I was also a little thrown back that the product didn't have a pipet, which would have made application easier.

Considering this regularly retails at over £32, I think I would be happier with a simple treatment of tea tree oil for a fraction of the price.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth, Youth Cream

*PR sample

When it comes to skincare, I tend to invest in my high end favourites however I have always had an appreciation for The Body Shop. The Body Shop offers quality products from cleansers to serums and their moisturisers are some of the best I have ever used.

The 'Drops of Youth' cream promises to renew the skin with unique properties extracted from plant stem cells. Edleweiss, Criste Marine and sea holly have all been combined and used to develop this gentle formula. After each use my skin feels instantly softer and overtime a touch of radiance has shown through. The consistency of the cream is wonderfully light and has a pleasant, fresh fragrance to it. Fortunately for me I don't yet have distinctive wrinkles so I can't comment on how effective the product is at disguising age lines but if you're looking for a hydrating face cream for sensitive skin - this is perfect!
