Dior Skin Nude Tan BB Creme

Dior Skin Nude Tan BB Creme - £30.00

BB creams haven't always appealed to me as an alternative to foundation, I much prefer CC creams as I find they give much more coverage and balance out my skin tone better. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been testing out the Dior Skin Nude Tan BB Creme to see if I can be swayed but unfortunately I still stick by my opinion.

This particular shade is actually a little too dark for me and does appear slightly orange on the skin so I have had to mix it with a lighter shade to match it to my complexion. The consistency of the product initially feels quite light however once applied it becomes rather stubborn and almost impossible to blend. It takes a lot of buffing in to create an even finish and even then I still find I need concealer to disguise any patchiness. I think it's fair to say that this isn't ideal for oily skin as I do have a lot of shine on my face if worn without powder.

Luckily for me I was given this product and I definitely would not think to invest in this myself. I know there are much better BB creams available on the highstreet at more affordable prices.

Dr Paw Paw Original Balm

*PR sample

Dr Paw Paw is a British beauty brand much loved by beauty gurus including Anna Saccone and Brogan Tate for it's signature lip balms. Each balm is created with natural ingredients with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties to give your lips nourishment and care. I recently received the multi-purpose Original Balm and I was eager to see what all the fuss is about.

The Original Balm is an innovative product made with Aloe and Carica Papaya, that can be used for every beauty emergency you can think of. As well as treating the lips this balm can be used on the cuticles, dry cracked heels and to sooth skin irritations like bites or rashes. It also works great as a primer for eye shadow and even comes in handy for shaping unruly brows.

I love how hydrating the balm is, the consistency of the product is so smooth and instantly moisturises. It's the perfect size to pop into your pocket to keep on the go but is available in larger sizes of 25ml and 200ml! I do however wish this wasn't unscented, I was expecting it to have a fruitiness to it but needless to say it has been lovely to use. I definitely would like to try the tinted balms and I would highly recommend Dr Paw Paw to those who regularly suffer with dry lips.

Dr Paw Paw is available to purchase instore at Urban Outfitters, Lloyd's Pharmacies and Harvey Nichols or online -  http://www.drpawpaw.com/shop/

How to: DIY Coffee Body Scrub

We all get told to embrace our natural flaws but one thing that I can't tolerate is the appearance of cellulite. I have suffered with cellulite from my late teens and have since battled with it due to my yo yo weight gain/loss. For the past two or so years I have managed to maintain a healthy weight, a sensible diet and for a good while my cellulite had dramatically reduced. However recently I have noticed it creeping back, this is because despite looking after my body on the inside I have neglected taking care of the outside.

My holy grail anti-cellulite product has always been Nivea's Q10 Plus Goodbye Cellulite Gel-Cream, it works wonders and I have repurchased it over and over. Mine has sadly run out and I haven't got round to replacing it and was curious as to whether I could create an alternative, at-home treatment for the meantime. I searched online for natural ways to reduce cellulite and came across a recommendation from one of my favourite fitness gurus Jillian Michaels. She suggests to save the grounds from your morning coffee and use as a scrub after dry brushing the legs. This is claimed to tighten the skin whilst providing antioxidants. I am aware that the Frank Body coffee scrub has been a hit with fellow beauty bloggers but why not save the investment and make some yourself?

Each morning for the past week I have kept the used grounds from my cafetiere, to apply onto my skin in the evening when I have my bath. The texture of the grounds is very dense so I would recommend to wear an exfoliating glove or mitt to ease the process as without one your hands will feel uncomfortably tingly. When using I focus on my problem areas, which for me are the back of my legs, inner thighs and bottom (TMI). Although this isn't the most appealing treatment visually it does leave the bathroom smelling like a coffee shop and just as a disclaimer, this is definitely the messiest scrub I have used so be prepared if you plan to try this yourself!

After a week trailing this treatment I must say I am quite impressed. Compared to last week I have noticed the back of my legs look firmer and less dimpled. I think this is a great at home daily treatment and well worth doing. Honestly I don't think I can completely rid the burden of cellulite but if I continue to take care of my body from the inside out, then that's the best I can do!

InstaNatural Vitamin C Facial Toner

*PR sample

Recently I was offered the chance to test out this Vitamin C toner from InstaNatural, a natural and organic skincare company based in Florida. When it comes to skincare the more natural the better so I was really keen to give this toner a go. This product claims to purify the skin and reduce the size of pores whilst restoring the natural PH levels of your face. I have been using this over the past fortnight and here are my thoughts..

After each application my skin feels instantly refreshed and hydrated. The spray gives a cooling sensation which has been really lovely in the warmer weather we've had this month. As a toner it doesn't leave my face feeling dry or too tight and I have noticed a slight radiance developing in my skin. My skin tone has appeared much more even and breakouts have been minimal however I'm not 100% sure that is solely due to using this product.

I was slightly thrown off by the scent of the product, as this is a Vitamin C enriched toner I assumed it would have a zesty, citrus smell to it but instead has a strong odour of witch hazel and reminds me too much of Mosquito repellent! I also found that the spray doesn't dispense evenly over the face so it does take a few pumps for a good application.

Overall this has been pleasant to use however I don't think I would invest in it myself as it is honestly over priced at £17.95*. This is a great example of natural skincare and although it has it's cons it performs as it promises.

If you're at all interested in trying this toner for yourself, it is available to purchase on Amazon.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Mascara

Rimmel Wake Me Up Mascara - £5.99*

I do love a new drugstore mascara launch and this one was certainly intriguing. You may be familiar with Rimmel's 'Wake Me Up' range of foundations and concealers, well now there is a new mascara thrown into the mix. This mascara claims to widen the eyes by giving lashes a lift of definition and length. The product consists of vitamins and refreshing cucumber (which you can actually smell!) to awaken the eyes whilst conditioning the lashes. I especially like the size and full shape of the applicator brush however I can't say I was totally won over by the formula. I found it gave quite average results and would probably work best for creating a 'no make up' make up look or for when wearing minimal shadow around the eyes. I've also found that just after a couple of weeks of use, the product has thickened and become quite clumpy.

Make & Bake Confetti Choc

Cookies are one of my favourite things to bake and I was so excited when one of my best friends gave me this Make & Bake cookie recipe for my birthday! This is a jar that contains all the dry ingredients needed to make delicious chocolate cookies, all you need to add is butter and an egg* (optional). These are super quick too make and take just 15 minutes in the oven! This is such a great gift idea for friends, family and those who don't get much free time to bake. They are a yummy treat to satisfy your sweet tooth and are fun to make on a night in.
