How To: Fishtail Braid

1. Start by choosing which side you want your braid to fall from, if you have a side fringe like me I'd suggest to braid the hair in the opposite direction to the way your fringe sits across your face. I like to tie my hair at the top of the braid and to have my hair wet as I find it easier to style.

2. Split the hair into two even sections, brush through to rid any knots and to ensure a sleek finish.

3. Take a small section from the back of one side and bring it across and over the top of the other.

4. Repeat Step 3 but now from the opposite side.

5. Soon you will see the Fishtail braid come into place.

6. Continue to braid, for those with long hair this does take some patience but it's worth it!

7. Once you are happy with the length of your Fishtail, tie the end with a thin hair band to keep it all in place.

8. Grab your hair-dryer and begin to rough dry the braid, if you wish you can gently loosen sections of the braid for a messy, boho inspired look.

This is one of my favourite hair styles for Spring/Summer, it's so versatile to wear day to night and for any occasion . If you follow this step by step 'How To' tweet me a photo! @Beauty_Blah

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush - £8.99

So I have a little confession, I may have purchased this product simply because of how pretty it was and I definitely didn't need another blusher to add to my stash but I am in love with this! Max Factor has recently released the Creme Puff Blush collection, available in 6 stunning multi-tonal shades to add an effortless pop of colour on the cheeks. I chose shade No.30 'Gorgeous Berries' which is a beautiful, baked blend of plumb and pink. Day to day I usually only apply bronzer but I have discovered adding even a subtle amount of this blush makes such a difference, giving my skin a naturally flushed appearance - even my boyfriend was impressed! The blush itself is very pigmented so I would suggest to apply it lightly to build it up to your preference and it lasts throughout the day on without the need for touch ups.

Sleek Brow Kit

Sleek Brow Kit - £8.49 £2

It's been a while since I stumbled across a beauty bargain and I may have got a little excited when I spotted this gem discounted in Boots. This is the Sleek Brow Kit made for creating the perfect, defined brows. This product instantly reminded me of Benefit's 'Brow Zings' brow shaping kit, but of course it is a fraction of the price. To fill my brows I usually use the matte brown shade of my Sleek i-Divine Au Natural eye shadow palette but as that has now finished this kit has been a great substitute. The setting powder is a perfect match for my brows without leaving them looking over done, I've never been too keen on shaping wax so I have yet to give this one a try. This kit includes teeny tiny tweezers, a blending brush and an angled brush - great for travel or for using on the go.

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint in Eat My Dust

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint - £3.99

Barry M is definitely my go to for nail polish, I'm always excited to try their new ranges and explore their unique variety of colours. The Quick Dry nail paint collection is a recent launch and I was certainly quick to check it out! With a selection of 9 Spring shades, these varnishes claim to dry moments after applying which is perfect if you're on the go or - if you're like me - someone who leaves nail painting to the last minute.

After putting it to the test, I have developed a love/hate relationship with this product and honestly it turned out to be rather disappointing. Although I absolutely adore this pastel blue/grey shade, I really despise the formula of the varnish. With every stroke of the brush the product instantly dries which makes application tedious and leaves a streaky appearance, almost like an old polish that has become thick and unusable. For me, it took around 3 coats to create an even finish and after just one day of wear my nails began to chip. Overall I'd rate this 2/5 and unfortunately I wouldn't consider repurchasing.

LUSH Easter

Lush Hoppity Poppity bath bomb - £2.50
Lush Fluffy Egg bath bomb - £2.95

Instead of devouring an unnecessary amount of chocolate eggs this Easter, I treated myself to these bath time cuties. Lush introduced a range of products to celebrate the Easter season from bath bombs to soaps which are still available to purchase throughout the month of April. From the bunch, I chose the adorable 'Hoppity Poppity' bath bomb which is shaped as a little white bunny with a pink nose. This literally smells like a Spring evening with fresh scents of violet and lavender, with an added zest of lime. I really loved using this in my bath before bed as it is so calming and the aroma pleases the scenses. I also picked up a 'Fluffy Egg' bath bomb as it had a similar scent and appearance to one of my all time Lush favourites 'Think Pink'. Bath water instantly turns a vibrant pink and the room fills with a sweet yet musky fragrance.

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend!

Maybelline Colour Drama Lipstick in Nude Perfection

Maybelline Colour Drama Lipstick - £4.99

I have a weakness for nude lipsticks and yet again I have another to add to my collection. This is the Colour Drama lipstick from Maybelline in the shade 'Nude Perfection' which I have spotted beauty vloggers Lily and Sarah wearing recently. This is an everyday wear shade with amazing pigmentation and matte finish. To my surprise the product has a hydrating, creamy consistency and my lips aren't left dry or uncomfortable, despite being a mattefying product. As this is a pencil lipstick it gives great precision when applying so I am able to line the lips perfectly before filling them in. I must admit this colour does appear much more peachy than I was expecting, for me personally peach tones suit me depending on how tanned my skin is. I think once I've had a little more sun on my face this shade won't wash me out so much. Overall I'd highly recommend this product, it is available in 10 shades and has been closely compared with the Nars Velvet Matte lip pencils.
