Barry M New Summer Shades

Barry M Nail Paint
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint 'Coconut' - £3.99
Barry M Matte Nail Paint 'Copa Cabana' - £3.99

I'm coming out of a phase where I just haven't been making the effort to paint my nails, most of my polishes have dried out and I can be so indecisive when it comes to choosing the colour I want to wear. Boots recently had an offer on Barry M nail paints so I used this as an opportunity to try some new shades and get back into the swing of things. I settled for these two, one a Gelly Hi-Shine and the other a Matte finish. I have wanted to purchase 'Coconut' for such a long time but it has always been so tedious to find in store. This is an off-white colour that looks great with a Summer tan and as with all Gelly Hi-Shine nail paints it is a lot more durable that your average polish. I have found two coats works best and it is easy to remove. 'Copa Cabana' is my first matte finish nail varnish so I was really eager to see how it would appear. This is a gorgeously vibrant pink/red colour wearable for any occasion. I love how it looks on my nails however I was rather disappointed at how well it chips, I found I had to reapply much too soon.

Garnier Ultimate Blends

Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo - £3.89
Garnier Ultimate Blends Conditioner - £3.89

I rarely come across a hair care range that I absolutely love and commit to. I usually just settle for any standard brand that's going on offer but with the complications of my recently diagnosed skin allergy, choosing a regular shampoo and conditioner has not been a simple task. That is until Garnier released their 'Ultimate Blends' collection and at last I have found my perfect match.

I was first introduced to this range when I purchased the Silky 7-in-1 Dry Shampoo which left me even more intrigued to try the shampoo and conditioners. There is a variety of products to choose from to suit your hair type, whether it be coloured, damaged, dull or normal. My favourites of the range are 'The Nourishing Repairer' blended with European Avocado Oil and African Shea Butter, 'The Sleek Restorer' which combines the nourishment of Coconut Oil & Cocoa Butter and 'The Silky Smoother' with Madagascan Vanilla milk and Brazilian Papaya extracts. All of these leave my hair feeling incredibly soft, shiny and more manageable. The naturally sourced ingredients have made a huge improvement and better yet the formula does not contain any trace of MI/MCI.

Clinique Chubby Stick Woppin' Watermelon

Clinique Chubby Stick -  free with this month's Glamour magazine

Whenever I am out with my girls they always whip out their much loved Clinique Chubby sticks from their hand bags and yet to this day I still haven't had one at hand, so when I saw that Glamour included them as their monthly freebie I was rather excited. Out of the two shade options available I chose '06 Woppin' Watermelon' which is a playful pink, perfect for Summer. I didn't really know what to expect from this product as it isn't something I would usually opt for. I much prefer matte, opaque lipsticks as opposed to sheer and subtle lip tints which sums the Chubby stick completely. This is a lip balm that moisturises as well as giving the lips a pop of colour which is really useful for having on the go or when you want to keep your make up simple. This is a pretty shade and compliments my skin tone well however I'm not hugely keen on the finish it gives to my lips. I may just need to experiment with it a little more but for now I'm not overly thrilled with it.

Boots Botanics Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution

Boots Botanics Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution - £2.99*

Cleansing is an important part of my skin care routine and this year I've really enjoyed using micellar waters. My usual preference is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water but this time I decided I wanted to try this one from Botanics at Boots, which is currently available to buy on an introductory offer. I have been using this daily upon a cotton pad after washing my face with a cleansing balm, to remove any left over make up residue and dirt. The key ingredient of this product is Hibiscus flower extract which is a natural brightener for the skin, gently exfoliating to give a smoother appearance. The consistency of the solution is light on the skin, leaving it feeling clean and refreshed, even better so it is suitable for all skin types and is fragrance free.

What's in my Make Up Bag?

FACE
Before I start, I always make sure to prime my skin, currently I am using Benefit's POREfessional which really helps to create a smoother surface whilst leaving a matte finish. Now that I have caught a bit of sun I find that mixing together my Estee Lauder Double Wear stay-in-place Make Up ('Dawn') with my NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser ('St Moritz'), gives me the perfect shade match. Lately I haven't had much need to use concealer but should I need to I always reach for my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. To finish off my base I like to buff my Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder all over, to even out my make up and to rid excess oil. In the Summer I much prefer bronzer over blush, this Dream Sun bronzing powder from Maybelline gives me a gorgeous buildable glow.

EYES & BROWS
I absolutely adore my Sleek i-Divine Au Naturel palette as you can probably tell. It has the perfect shades to create a natural everyday look or if you're seeking to create a dramatic smoky eye. Before applying mascara I always curl my lashes with these eye lash curlers from Emite which I received in a past GlossyBox. My current mascaras of choice are the Great Lash mascara by Maybelline and Clinque's Bottom Lash mascara. My favourite eye liner at the moment is the Skinny Liquid liner by Eyeko which came free with last month's issue of Glamour, it gives amazing precision and lasts all day. To fill my brows I use a warm brown shade from the i-Divine palette and then shape them with the Maybelline Master Shape Brow pencil.

BRUSHES
Foundation - Real Techniques Buffing brush
Concealer - Real Techniques Domed Shadow brush
Bronzer - Real Techniques Multi-task brush
Powder - Real Techniques Powder brush
Eye Shadow - Urban Decay Naked palette brush

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray - £5.50

I heat style my hair almost every day of the week (slaps wrist) so using a heat protection spray is a must! Last week I picked up this one from Tresemme which guarantees to restore Keratin lost in damaged hair whilst giving your locks a smoother appearance. I must admit I'm not always too sure about these Keratin claims and with my hair in such bad condition I haven't yet seen any benefits. I'm hoping to get my hair cut soon and I'm sure I'll appreciate this product a lot more once I have. To use, simply spray onto towel dry hair before styling as normal. It has a nice scent which does linger in the hair through the day and doesn't feel heavy or sticky.
