Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Maybelline Great Lash mascara - £2.99*

This is a classic mascara, I remember my Mum using this when I was little and I always ogled over the hot pink packaging. I hadn't seen it for years until the other day when I spotted it on a trip to my local TK Maxx and at less than £3 I just had to get it. My current mascara is seeing it's last days so I thought I'd see how this one goes for now. I have been using this for my everyday make up and so far I've not got a single complaint. My lashes appear much more defined and lengthened which is all I really need for day to day wear. It's really easy to apply without any clumps and removes well. I must admit it is quite an average mascara, it doesn't give a false lash effect or full volume but it gets the job done!

Top 5 Everyday Lipsticks

1. Topshop lipstick - Sartorial
2. Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick - 101
3. GOSH Velvet Touch lipstick - Mandarina
4. Topshop lipstick - Infrared
5. W7 lipstick - Summer Fling

Sartorial - A vibrant watermelon pink, perfect for Summer. I bought this shade on a whim and I'm so glad I did, this colour really compliments my skin tone and is my go to for a bold lip.

101 - The ideal everyday pink that's wearable from day to night. It has great pigmentation with a creamy, hydrating consistency.

Mandarina - A matte peach wearable day or night. It does have very high pigmentation so I recommend to apply it a little by little to suit your preference.

Infrared - My perfect choice for a red lip. I have found that orange based red lipsticks such as this work much better with my skin tone compared to blue tones. A great high street dupe for MAC's Morange!

Summer Fling - A simple nude that compliments any make up look. It has a creamy consistency and doesn't dry out the lips.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner - free with this month's Glamour magazine

I've worn eye liner since my teens so I have come across a fair few different brands and formulas over the years. I'm a regular reader of Glamour and I was excited to see that this month's issue came with this free skinny liquid eyeliner from Eyeko, which is available in shades 'Black' and 'Navy'. For my everyday make up I like to create a defined cat eye and this skinny liner has worked perfectly to give a sleek line and flick on my upper lids with no mistakes. The super slim nib allows me to draw evenly across the lid with ease and is great for lining right across to the the inner corner of the eye. The intensity of the liner is buildable although it does smear if not left to dry between each application. It's really worth while grabbing a copy of Glamour while you can to get this liner, even if you're not a regular reader you'll spend £2 for a product that's worth £12-bargain!

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse OR

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse OR

For me, Summer wouldn't be complete without this little treasure. This is a multi-purpose dry oil that can be used upon the face, body and hair. With a blend of Vitamin E, Almond, Camellia and Macadamia, this oil nourishes the skin whilst giving a beautiful golden shimmer. I have found that it is perfect for intensifying a natural tan and gives a gorgeous glow that lasts for hours. I usually apply this onto my arms and legs to give a more bronzed appearance however it could also be used as a highlighter for the cheeks or can even be mixed with foundation to illuminate the face an all over. There is no greasy residue but I would recommend to be careful if you are planning to wear white. This is a must have item to take on a holiday in the sun or simply to wear day to day in the warmer months.

200th Post! Beauty Haul

I'm rather excited to announce that this is my 200th post! Even though I don't get to write as much as I'd like to, I'm really proud of how far I have come with my blog and appreciate every single one off my readers. I thought I'd use this as an opportunity to share a recent beauty haul which I rarely ever do but with my birthday last month I was lucky enough to receive £100 John Lewis vouchers and so I treated myself with these beauties...

Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo

Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo - £3.09*

For those of you who regularly follow my posts you'll know that my hair is dip dyed, using bleach to lighten the hair does come with the consequence of brassy tones which has become a noticeable issue for me. I'd always known that using a purple toner was the solution and so I decided to pick up a bottle of the Touch of Silver brightening shampoo by Pro:Voke, that promises to neutralise brassiness and to generally give a more vibrant appearance. The violet pigmentation of the product balances out the canary yellow that often shows through platinum blonde hair and it also reduces the dullness of mature grey hair. This is a twice-a-week, 5 minute treatment and I've definitely seen an improvement after just two uses. I can already see that my hair is much more of a caramel brown as opposed the chestnut colour that it was. I'd really recommend this shampoo to those who have colour treated hair, particularly blondes, it's affordable and works wonders!
